This is a great camera! I reviewed digital cameras for months before deciding on this camera. I bought it for it's zoom power and high MP. I have yet to learn most of the features, but I've been doing great using the auto mode. It's a large camera, not one you can stick in your purse or pocket. But if you want a high zoom camera that takes great shots, it's worth the bulkiness!

I bought this camera on the strength of it winning the "Best Consumer Compact 2007" in What Digital Camera magazine here in the UK. I wanted a very compact camera which was well made and which also produced good quality pictures via a high quality wide angle lens. And that is what I got - good quality pictures - and the camera itself is beautifully made, incl a Leica 28-100mm lens (perfect for landscapes and short tele work). Beautifully made? How many cameras can you say that about these days? It's a joy to use too. The menu system is dead easy - I only read the manual out of academic interest in the end (but of course that's the way to get the best out of it). Picture quality is very good indeed for a compact digital, especially so given the tiny size of the sensor in these types of cameras (compared to DSLRs). No complaints from me - I was very pleasantly surprised.

The new Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX2 is successor to the DMC-LX1, which has received high acclaim worldwide for its unique 16:9 wide CCD, plentiful functions, and smart design. The DMC-LX2 inherits the f2.8 28mm wide angle Leica DC lens, 4x optical zoom (equivalent to 28-112mm on a 35mm film camera), and Mega O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer) system in addition to an enhanced CCD capable of taking images at 10.2-megapixel resolution, as well a larger, 2.8-inch 16:9 wide LCD.

This camera has incredible build quality, and takes extremely nice pictures for a point and shoot. It has lots of features, but I think calling it a 10.2mp camera is a little misleading. It's really a 7.5, but you gain the extra couple when it's in 16x9 mode. On the other hand it is a little noisier than I thought, and the design makes it a bit cumbersome for putting in your pocket. Otherwise, I really, really like it.

This was a 'just after Christmas' present from my wife since I'd been lusting for this camera since I'd first read about it's introduction. I really like the ease of use of the digital format. I decided to keep with the big zoom all in one camera because of the problem of dust that I used to have with my old SLR film cameras, and that I'd read about with Digital SLR's also. I've been taking lots of pictures as I'm learning all the features this camera has over my previous Panasonic FZ-3. And in another review I'd read and agree with, STUDY and READ the manual!! Especially if you're doing anything more than just point and shoot in auto program mode.

The Lumix FX100 is easy to handle. The Leica 3.6x wide angle and the qualiy with that the camara is manufactured are convincing. For most of my snapshots I use only 5 MP but the 12 MP option gives a lot of flexibility for indirect zooming as it is possible to enlarge parts of a picture later on. I'm not a professional and I appreciate that the camera does all the work for me. I have it now for aproximately one month and I would buy it again.

There are so many different settings i haven't even discovered them yet. I think this camera could make anyone a great photographer. I totally recommend it.
